Kaltura Installed but can NOT access admin console

Dears, I can NOT access the admin console, Please find attached a screenshot after running

kaltlog

Is there a command a file i can edit manually to edit the admin password to access admin console?

I’m using
Debian 8 64x

Hello @JohnMalcom,

According to your output, the -2 partner [which is used for Admin Console] does not exist in the kaltura MySQL DB.
This means something has gone wrong during the DB population phase.
This is done in the kaltura-db package postinst phase.
You should be able to locate errors relating to this failure in /opt/kaltura/log/insertDefaults.log, /opt/kaltura/log/insertPermissions.log and /opt/kaltura/log/insertContent.log

In such a case, an error is also outputted to STDOUT/STDERR in the terminal but I imagine you didn’t save the log.

I suggest you remove all the Kaltura debs, start fresh and look at the output in the shell as well as in these logs.
To remove all Kaltura packages, files and directories and start again, run:

# /opt/kaltura/bin/kaltura-drop-db.sh
# aptitude purge "~Nkaltura"
# aptitude purge "~Napache2"
# rm -rf /opt/kaltura
# rm -rf /etc/kaltura.d

If a fresh install fails, please paste the full output as well as any errors you see in the logs mentioned above so I can help you further.

Thanks,

Here is the output
-bash: /etc/init.d/kaltura-batch: No such file or directory

Only kaltura-pouplate and kaltura-sphinx are existed

Hi @JohnMalcom,

/etc/init.d/kaltura-batch belongs to the kaltura-batch package. This package, along with all other needed packages, is installed when running http://installrepo.origin.kaltura.org/repo/apt/debian/install_kaltura_all_in_1.sh.
If it’s not installed, then something has gone wrong. Please run the script again and paste the output here.

Ok, here is the last lines i found after running the installation.

These errors relate to failure to setup the kaltura-dwh package, needed for analytics, it would explain “Error #1085” when you load KMC.
To understand exactly what fails there, edit /var/lib/dpkg/info/kaltura-dwh.postinst and change:

#!/bin/bash -e

to read:

#!/bin/bash -ex

then run:

# aptitude install -f

and paste the full output.

After applying the below, Please find the output.

aptitude install -f

Now there is no errors, logged ok to admin console and publishers area without seeing the same error.

Back to the original issue, once uploading a video it keep saying “converting” for a long time however it’s a small vid.

OK, we need to understand why the kaltura-batch package is not installed.
Run:

and paste the output.

Hi @JohnMalcom,

RE batch daemon - yes, that means it’s fine.
As for your error, you’re trying to preview from the “template partner” [partner ID 99].
You should create a new partner from Admin Console and use it. The template, as the name would imply is not meant for actual use but only as a template. When a new partner is created, default content, players and such are cloned from it.

Also, since your deployment had some issues along the way, please make sure the kaltura-nginx package is installed.

# dpkg -l kaltura-nginx

if it is not, then install it with:

# aptitude install kaltura-nginx

at that point, you should have a fully function Kaltura Server.

Thanks, HYG the output

root@kmc:~# aptitude install kaltura-nginx
