Unable to Upload Video using KMC CE-10.0.0 (DWH cycle FAILED issue)

I have installed the Kaltura CE 10.0.0 on CentOS, every thing got installed perfectly and sanity test passed.

# rpm -qa kaltura-kmc
kaltura-kmc-v5.37.32-1.noarch

# rpm -qa kaltura-base
kaltura-base-10.0.0-9.noarch

After the installation visited Kaltura Admin Console and created Publisher Account and added a Publisher to use the KMC.

After login to KMC got Error “Internal Error” after selecting OK (Ignored).
Selected “Upload From Desktop” and selected a MP4 File and selected “Upload” then after some time got error “Failed to upload <file_name> file”.

I tried to upload different types of files but all failed, logs are as below:

Uploading video is successful when uploading from Kaltura Android Client app.
But when I try to access it from a Kaltura Android Client app then got Error saying.

"Invalid data format. Select another!"

And video does not play.

Hello,

Few questions:

  • sanity test passed - this includes the upload test?
  • the error you are getting when logging into KMC: can you please run kaltlog in parallel to making the request and find what it is?
  • if the sanity succeeds in uploading an entry, does it also succeed when calling the ‘Mock playback’ test?

Thanks,

Thanks for the replay and help.

Yes sanity test is passed for upload and mock play, please refer sanity test logs.

Thank you for running Kaltura!

For Kaltura Android Client Application:
I don’t see any kaltlogs when I get error Invalid Data format. Select Another! while playing video stream from the Kaltura Android Client, application Toasts this error and player keeps loading.

Hello and most welcome.
The exception you’re getting when loading KMC seems related to the fact the DWH DB is incomplete.
Since this is a fresh install and there is no real data in it yet, I would suggest you:
# /opt/kaltura/bin/kaltura-drop-db.sh
and re-run your config script. You can use the answer file stored by the prev. install under /tmp/kaltura*.ans.

Please check carefully for errors. Once done and assuming there aren’t any issues, please re-try and let me know.

Thanks,

Hi jess,

Did /opt/kaltura/bin/kaltura-drop-db.sh and then /opt/kaltura/bin/kaltura-config-all.sh.
And there were no error except below one error while starting monit:

Shutting down monit:                          [FAILED]
Starting monit: /opt/kaltura/app/configurations/monit/monit.d/enabled.mysqld.rc:13: Warning: Program does not exist: 'service'
Starting monit daemon with http interface at [*:2812]
                                                           [  OK  ]

While doing /opt/kaltura/bin/kaltura-sanity.sh every thing passed except:

[DWH cycle] [FAILED, RC: 255] - [20.262340507]

But still facing same issue:

  1. Internal Error after login to KMC, logs as given previously.
  2. Not able to upload any file from KMC, it fails with logs as given previously.
  3. Not able to play video from Kaltura Android Client application, after debugging I found url which is passed to the player is null, and it is not received from the server itself.

I tried to reinstall Kaltura CE fresh from the scratch, but same sates of error I am getting as mentioned in my previous reply.

It will be helpful is someone please provide help solving these issues.

Can you please paste the full output of the entire install process?
Thanks,

Logs for complete install process are as below:

Indeed, the install looks fine.
Is it possible you are trying to login to KMC using the admin account? if so, this should not work, you should create your own partner in Admin console and use it…

Thanks,

Thanks for reply,

I am using Same email address for Admin Console and KMC, is it that I need to create account with different email ID for KMC?

Let me check KMC login with different partner ID.

With new publisher with different email address for KMC login, I am able to upload a new Video and it shows me Converting status, so upload issue is fixed with new publisher account.

But from Admin Console when I search for conversion status “By Flavor Asset ID” then I see error for conversion as “Fatal System Error”, only first conversion with Flavor “Source” is successful.

** I am still facing old issue, using new publisher:**

  1. “Internal Error” after login to KMC, logs as given previously.
  2. “Internal Error” after selecting analytical tab
  3. Not able to play video from Kaltura Android Client application, after debugging I found url which is passed to the player is null, and it is not received from the server itself.

Issue is fixed:
Issue was with MySQL data base connection, some how etl@localhost user was unable to connect to database and because of that these errors were seen.

Please close.

Great, thanks for the update. Glad it all works.
