Hi,

You seem to have a few issues here:

/etc/kaltura.d/system.ini: line 29: syntax error: unexpected end of file
/etc/kaltura.d/system.ini: line 26: unexpected EOF while looking for matching'

What is the content of these two lines in /etc/kaltura.d/system.ini?
In addition:

AH00526: Syntax error on line 2 of /opt/kaltura/app/configurations/apache/conf.d/enabled.kaltura.conf:

What is the content of that line?

@coco_lee

If it helps you, there’s an Installation documentation for Kaltura CE based on Linux Cent OS 6.5.
In that case Ubuntu Server is additional for a wordpress Installation to access the videos which are hosted on Kaltura.

Part 1: Installing Cent OS 6.5
http://daniel85.ch/?p=1206

Part 2: Installing Kaltura on Cent OS 6.5
http://daniel85.ch/?p=1251

Part 3: Installing Ubuntu Server with Apache2

Part 4: Installing Wordpress

Sorry I was only allowed to post two links. Follow the links in the tutorial for Part 3 and 4.

Cheers!

@jess
I delete the VM away and making a new VM now. Will update again if i got the same problem.

@daniel_mueller_1
I try to install from the link you have but Cent OS 6.5 is harder then ubuntu to install. I could not get the internet to work.
I hope there is something like what you have for ubuntu.

Thanks Both

@coco_lee

I’ve never tried to install Kaltura on a ubuntu based system, but regarding to the Installation documentation it should be similar to the steps I did with CentOS 6.5.
If it’s only the internetconnection that is not working for you, I think you should be able to fix it.
How did you set the network configuration in ubuntu? Did you set the ip address manually or did you use DHCP?

To list your Network interfaces, simple use the command: ifconfig

Follow this article to set the IP adress manually in CentOS 6.5:

Otherwise you can check if you get an IP Adress with a DHCP Configuration:

Cheers!

Hi Daniel,

I use DHCP on ubuntu. I try both manual n DHCP for Centos.

Thanks

Hello,

The problem stems from:
/etc/kaltura.d/system.ini: line 26: unexpected EOF while looking for matching ‘
/etc/kaltura.d/system.ini: line 30: syntax error: unexpected end of file
/etc/kaltura.d/system.ini: line 26: unexpected EOF while looking for matching’

Open the file and check the values in these lines, they contain illegal chars, causing BASH to complain when the script tries to source them in. If in doubt, paste the values here but be sure not to paste any secret info.

Hi Jess,

“/etc/kaltura.d/system.ini: line 26” refer to my password for mysql.
I have special char in my password. Is that the problem?
"/etc/kaltura.d/system.ini: line 30" is empty. Can I just delete it.

If mysql password need to change can you tell me how i can change the root password?

Thanks

That would depend on what kind of char it is:)
The string is encapsulated with quotes like so:
SUPER_USER_PASSWD=“somepasswd”

so, the only case I can think of where a problem would arise is if your actual passwd also has the char ‘"’ in it.
To change it:
# mysqladmin -p$CURRENT_PASSWORD password
and then type in your new password.

Hi Jess,

I manage to change the password for mysql and it install kaltura-sphinx but error appear at kaltura-nginx

Hi,

Your issue seems to start here:
http://K VM01
there is a space between ‘K’ and ‘VM01’ thus making it an invalid host.
# dpkg-reconfigure kaltura-nginx
and input a correct value.

Hi Jess,

I’m having the error below when i run # dpkg-reconfigure kaltura-nginx

/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: kaltura-nginx is broken or not fully installed

Also i’ve check the “/opt/kaltura/nginx/conf/nginx.conf” the name dont have a space inbetween the K and V
Below is the part of the conf.

#user nobody;
